BurnerPad is a local, encrypted notepad application for Android. It is designed from the ground up to collect no data about you. Your notes never leave your device.
None. BurnerPad does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information, usage data, analytics, or telemetry. There are no servers, no accounts, and no network connections made by this application.
All notes are stored exclusively on your device, encrypted using AES-256-CBC with a key derived from your PIN via PBKDF2WithHmacSHA256. Notes are never uploaded, synced, backed up to any cloud service, or transmitted in any form. Backup archives created within the app are saved to your device's Downloads folder and are encrypted — they are never sent anywhere automatically.
BurnerPad does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or crash reporting tools. However, as with all apps distributed through Google Play, Google may collect certain device and crash information through Google Play Services in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. This data collection is outside of BurnerPad's control and is not initiated by the app itself.
Users who wish to avoid this telemetry entirely can sideload BurnerPad by downloading the latest release APK directly from the GitHub repository instead of installing through Google Play. A sideloaded installation does not involve Google Play's crash reporting infrastructure.
BurnerPad requests only the permissions necessary for its core functionality: storage access for importing and exporting files. No other permissions are requested or used.
